Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Delhi
Arrival at Delhi where our representative will meet you and facilitate you to check in at the Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 2: Full day sightseeing in Delhi
After your breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken to visit Old Delhi- the former center of Mughal power which offers ancient monuments, narrow streets and bustling markets. Visit the Red Fort built in 1648 by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan famous for his great edifice of love the Taj Mahal. Also see the biggest mosque in India the Jama Masjid, constructed by Shah Jahan in 1658. Then drive through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk to get a feel of the royal life of the Mughal emperors.
Post lunch you will be taken to see the “New Delhi” which came into existence much later, and is also known as Lutyens Delhi, taking after the name of a British architect who was largely responsible in designing the India Gate, The Presidential House, the Secratariat, the Parliament House and many other buildings in that area.
Drive on to see the tallest tower in Delhi, known as Qutub Minar, which declared the arrival and rise of Islam in India. Evening back to the Hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3: Delhi to Varanasi
Departure from Delhi airport for flight to Varanasi. Arrival at Varanasi, pick up at airport and check in at the hotel. Visit some of the many Hindu temples that line the river Ganges. Stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling, among other things, the world famous Benaras Silks.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Full day sightseeing in Varanasi.
Morning visit Sarnath - 5 miles out of Varanasi - one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, where Buddha preached his first Sermon in 590 B.C.
Afternoon take a boat ride on the holy ganges river to witness the overwhelming sites on the river banks. (optional)
Later drop at Railway Station for an overnight train to Jhansi. Overnight in train.
Please note: This night is spent in a train.
Day 5: Morning arrival at Jhansi and then drive to Khajuraho. Arrival at Khajuraho, check in at hotel.
Later proceed for sightseeing at Khajuraho.
Visit the most exotic, erotic and famous temples at Khajuraho.
Western Group of Temples is certainly the best known, because it is to this group that the largest and most typical Khajuraho temples belong.
Southern Group of Temples-Dulah Deo Temple is the finest temple at Khajuraho also called Kunwar Math offers some of the choicest sculptures especially the Shalbhanjika.
Eastern Group of Temples are lavishly embellished with sculpted figures, including yakshis. The three Hindu temples of the group are the Brahma, containing a four faced lingam, the Vamana, which is adorned on its outer walls with carving of apsaras in a variety of sensuous attitudes; and the javari, with a richly-carved gateway and exterior sculptures.overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: This morning drive on to Orchha en route to Jhansi and visit the Raj Mahal and Jehangir Mahal at Orchha. Board a train at Jhansi for Agra. Arrive at Agra, pick up from Station and check in at hotel.
Early Evening visit the Agra Fort which lies on the bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of town. It was built by Emperor Akbar as his citadel over the years 1563-73 in the finest architectural style. It has imposing gates and walls of red sandstone and a moat.
Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Agra sightseeing
This morning start the day by visiting the famous monument of love-Taj Mahal. This most famous Mughal monument was constructed by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died while giving birth to his 14th child and after just 17 yrs of marriage. It has been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The central structure has four small domes surrounding the huge central dome.
Later drive on to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. Arrive at Jaipur, check in at hotel and overnight stay.
Taj Mahal is not open to visitors on Fridays.
Day 8: Jaipur
Full day sightseeing and shopping in Jaipur. Visit the The City Palace in the heart of the old city which is the former royal residence that houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and an armoury of the Mughals and the Rajputs.
Near the Palace is Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, the largest of Jai Singh’s five remarkable observatories. Also visit the landmark of the “Pink City” the Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds, built to enable the ladies of the royal household to watch the processions passing in the street without being seen.
Evening can be spent in strolling in the many streets or lanes of the Bazaar to pick up souvenirs and memorabilia. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Jaipur to Udaipur by flight.
Morning take a flight from Jaipur to Udaipur.
Reach Udaipur, pick up from airport and check in at hotel.
Later proceed for sightseeing, Places of interest in Udaipur: Lake Pichhola- The picturesque lake that entranced Maharaja Udai Singh. Ahar : The ancient capital of sisodias, 3 Km from Udaipur, is a profusion of royal cenotaphs of the rulers of Mewar.
Sajjan Garh : The monsoon palace offers a panoramic overview of the city's lakes, palaces and the surrounding countryside. Gulab Bagh : A spectacular rose Garden laid out by maharana Sanjjan Singh.
Overnight at a hotel in Udaipur .
Day 10: Udaipur to Delhi & Departure
Take an evening flight from Udaipur to Delhi. Arrival at Delhi airport and transfer to International airport for flight back home.
End of tour and our services.
